The national Council on television and radio broadcasting fined 10 radio stations for violation of the law on quotas for Ukrainian-language songs.

“Thrice has carried out monitoring, prepare the following test. Will soon publish the results of monitoring in the regions. Just a failure of language quotas fined 10 stations on 579 thousand UAH”, – wrote in his Facebook a member of the national Council Sergey Kostinsky.
Also added an infographic on how to comply with quota 14 radio stations since November last year to January 2017. In November, the violation recorded on “Radio Shanson, Kiss FM and “Retro FM”.
“After the adoption of the law on quotas of songs and programs on the state language there are at least two radio stations with a fully Ukrainian-language content — “Country FM” and “Radio 1”, – said Sergey Kostinsky.
In June 2016 the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on quotas for Ukrainian-language songs. They must be at least 35% of the total compositions. During the first year after the entry into force of the law, the quota is 25%. Next will be 30% and 35%. For failure to comply with the law, the broadcaster shall pay a penalty of 5% of the total amount of the license fee.
