Red carpet and the big stage: what did Poroshenko in Malta

29-30 March President Petro Poroshenko is on a working visit to the Republic of Malta. Came at the invitation of the President of the European people’s party Joseph Share.

During the visit, Poroshenko met with President of the European Council Donald Tusk. They reaffirmed the importance of maintaining EU sanctions against Russia until full restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The President also met with Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban. The latter insists on the immediate granting Ukrainians a visa-free regime with the EU. The parties also discussed the importance of maintaining sanctions against Russia and settling the situation in Donbas.

Poroshenko met with President of the European people’s party Joseph Golem.

Before – with the head of Cyprus by Nikas Anastasiades, who confirmed that the position regarding the regime of EU sanctions against Russia.

Poroshenko met with President of the Republic of Malta Marie-Louise, Coleiro Precau. Talked about improving trade-economic and investment cooperation between Ukraine and Malta.

The Ukrainian head of state addressed the Congress of the European people’s party – one of the largest parties in Europe. It is represented in all political institutions of the EU and the Council of Europe.

The Ministry of foreign Affairs expressed hope that Ukraine will receive a visa-free regime with the EU until the end of spring.
