The hryvnia is directly linked with the market demand.

This was stated by Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman in an interview to “112 Ukraine”.

“We have no fixed rate. More demand – less demand, so there are fluctuations. Always will be”, – said the head of government.

He predicts that soon the hryvnia exchange rate will not change.

“Today, the hryvnia has stabilized and strengthened. So do not expect major fluctuations. The economy is growing. Our task is to strengthen the national currency. The national Bank deals with this issue. It their direct function. I believe that today there are no problems,” – said Groisman.

The national Bank set the official dollar exchange rate on February 2-4, at the level of UAH 27,86. The Euro is 34,72 UAH.

At the end of 2017, the Ukrainian hryvnia depreciated sharply – the rate exceeded 30 UAH per dollar. On 18 December, the Bank sold at auction $75.2 million to keep the hryvnia exchange rate, and 22 December – another $43 million.
