The volume of livestock production in 2018 will be shaped by the negative trends of recent years, the decline of livestock and poultry. First of all, in households.
“When you save to the end of the year the number of cows, sheep and goat enterprises households and agricultural enterprises the volume of cultivation of cattle and poultry in 2018 are projected at 3155,1 thousand tons. This is 1.3 percent less than last year”, – said the Director of the National scientific center “Institute of agrarian Economics”, academician of NAAS Yuri Lupenko writes ubr.ua.
Gross output of livestock production in Ukraine is projected at 68.4 billion UAH. This is 1.1% less than last year.
Most – 8.1% – decrease the production of pork. While maintaining livestock in farms and in agricultural enterprises of pig meat is produced to 872,4 thousand tons.
Production volumes of cattle meat decreased on 0,4% – to 616,6 thousand tons.
At the same time after a minor decline in poultry meat production in 2015 to 1505 thousand tons, in 2016, there is a tendency to its increase. She will continue in 2018. The expected increase in poultry meat production 2.5% vs. 2017 – to 1600,6 thousand tons.
“Overall, in 2018 there is expected to resume growth in livestock production”, – summed up Yuriy Lupenko.
In January 2018 saw an increase in exports of pork and poultry meat. Ukraine exported of 19.69 thousand tons of poultry meat and offal. This figure is significantly higher than the rates recorded in January 2017.
