The head of the International monetary Fund Christine Lagarde believes that the international regulation of transactions with cryptocurrencies is inevitable.
“Of course, this is an area where international regulation is necessary and proper control,” – said Lagarde in an interview with CNN.
As stated by Lagarde, currently the cryptocurrency apparent “dark side” — they can easily be used for illegal transactions and money laundering. There is also associated with cryptocurrencies the danger of financing terrorism.
The IMF estimated the approximate volume of the Ukrainian economy, which is in the informal sector, that is, pays no taxes and has no connection with the crime. The figure is 44.8 per cent.
