It is noted that the composition of the UN mission should be about 20 thousand soldiers from the countries-members of NATO.
“The United Nations should consider a force of about 20 thousand troops from countries that are not members of NATO, and 4 thousand policemen to help resolve the situation in Ukraine”, – stated in the message.
The report will present on Saturday, February 17, at the Munich conference, including the US special envoy on Ukraine Kurt Volker.
“For the mission required a combination of some European countries such as Sweden, countries with experience in peacekeeping, such as Brazil, and countries in which there is confidence in Russia, as Belarus,” said the report’s author, expert on UN Affairs at Columbia University Richard Gowan.
According to him, the introduction of the peacekeeping mission in the Donbass will hold local elections there.
