Year, as increased minimum salary: are Ukrainians richer

For a year the minimum salary of Ukrainians increased by half. In February 2017, they received 3200 UAH. In January of the current year – UAH 3723.

“The growth of the minimal salary for the public sector influenced the increase in earnings in the private sector. So, white rates employees, businessmen have raised by reducing their income. Then gradually increased the price of final goods, and wage growth has led to a new round of prices. For the year, wage arrears grew most in the Western regions of Ukraine, the it sector and medicine.

Economist Ivan Nikitchenko in addition to the growth of the minimal salary called for other reasons of rise in price of goods and services in Ukraine.

“On the one hand, the growth of payments for public sector workers always leads to inflation. On the other – due to the growth of mentorplace increased the tax burden on business. She compensated for it by raising prices. Inflation was most affected by the devaluation of the hryvnia, rising prices for petroleum products,” he commented.

From 1 January 2018 rose not only mentorplace, but the salaries of state employees on the Unified tariff grid.

In the second half of this year, the minimum wage could rise to RS 4100. Due to the lack of money in the Treasury, the increase was postponed, tentatively for six months. At the same time, the President of the Ukrainian analytical center Alexander Okhrimenko predicts that it will increase salaries “in envelopes”.

“The money of the workers who directed family, indirectly affect the growth of prices we have. Therefore, to maintain consumer demand in the private sector will gradually grow illegal wages,” he says.

According to the state statistics service, wage arrears reached UAH 2.37 billion. If you do not consider the bad debts of bankrupt enterprises, the current structure owes more than half of this amount to 1.27 billion.
