Ukraine has begun small growth. But it fully depends on further cooperation with the IMF.
About it on air of TV channel “direct” said the former Minister of economic development and trade aivaras Abromavicius.
“In Ukraine was for many years the difficult economic situation. When we started working, it was 36 months of consecutive fall in industrial production. Inflation in may 2015 – 46%. When Yatsenyuk came, the Treasury was 10 thousand dollars. Just looted everything and left. Then it was the main thing – the stabilization of the macroeconomic situation. Because no one will invest money into the economy when the exchange rate reeling by 10% on the day. And this has been achieved, and it really means”, – he reminded.
“We have begun small growth. This resembles the early stage of economic growth. There are prerequisites that in subsequent years it should be higher”, – he said.
The bottom of the crisis passed, said the former Minister.
“The economy is growing eight consecutive quarters. It is a statistic. But growth fully depends on whether we are in an IMF programme. Because this year and next year need to return $ 10 billion. Without the IMF, unfortunately, nowhere. You will need not only money, but also other macro-financial assistance the EU”, – said Abromavicius.
Aivaras Abromavicius worked in the government from 2014 to 2016. In February he announced his resignation. I declared pressure on the part of the people’s Deputy from BPP Igor Kononenko, actual sabotage of reforms and corruption in the highest position of power.
